BOURNEMOUTH METAL DETECTING CLUB

Club was founded in 2011 by a group of metal detecting enthusiasts who wanted to share their past time with others and share the history they discover.

BRENTWOOD METAL DETECTING CLUB BMDC

meet on every third Monday of the month at a venue just outside Brentwood. The club currently has 110 members and always welcomes new additions comprises of med and woman. Founded back in the early 1970’s the BMDC has a long history and a great place to learn about the hobby of metal detecting.

BLAYDON SEARCH AND RECOVERY ASSOCIATION

Blaydon search and recovery association Founded in 1998, friendly and honest metal detecting club based in the north east of England Gateshead Tyne and wear.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE AREA METAL DETECTING CLUB (CAMDC)

was formed in early 2018. From humble beginnings in a pub garden, we now have a private meeting room, en suite facilities and a private bar in a comfortable pub in Stapleford, South Cambridgeshire. We are primarily an MDF-based club with a private forum on here, we do not currently have any club land, but we have had one club dig and a couple of members occasionally detect together. We meet formally on the second Monday of the month. You don't need to be from South Cambs... we have members from Luton, East Beds and North Essex. COTSWOLD HERITAGE AND DETECTING SOCIETY

Cotswold Heritage and Detecting Society hold their club meetings on the second Wednesday of the month. A Society dedicated to the promotion of the conscientious use of metal detectors for both enjoyment and historical research.

CENTRAL SEARCHERS METAL DETECTING CLUB

Central Searchers have a dig every weekend making them one of the most active UK metal detecting clubs. Membership costs £15 and is well worth the small investment, especially if you are free at the weekend. CARDIFF SCAN METAL DETECTING CLUB

Cardiff Scan Club is a thriving community resource for those interested in metal detecting as a hobby. The club boasts a healthy membership and has many advantages for members: Club sites where members are welcome to detect, regular club rallies at different venues, regular monthly club meetings

CAMBRIDGE METAL DETECTING CLUB

a group of 3(family and friends), who have a passion for uncovering history and artefacts. We have been doing it in our spare time for some time now and have found many interesting items. We have decided to start a club and hope to get more people involved and hunting for lost history.

DERBY ARTEFACTS RECOVERY CLUB [DARC]

The club was founded in 1973. Membership is capped at 70. A dig is arranged every month bar January, and monthly competitions are held for best find. The club's previous web-site, derbymetaldetecting.co.uk has been closed.

DUNELME METAL DETECTING CLUB

This club was formed in 1995 by a small group of detectorists. The club holds meetings every Wednesday at the Eldon Arms Hotel, Ferryhill Station, County Durham DL17 0AW. All members must hold a valid NCMD Insurance card.

DEDHAM VALE DETECTORISTS

Known as the “DVD” for short the Dedham Vale detectorists was formed in 2015. This group hold their meeting on the third Thursday of the month atthe Royal British Legion Club, Straight Road, Boxted, Colchester, CO4 5QT.

DEREHAM & DISTICT METAL DETECTING CLUB

Group of over 50 members from around Norfolk. The club meets once a month in Mattishall, Norfolk and has monthly awards at their meetings.

DARTFORD METAL DETECTING CLUB

Club meets on the second Monday of the month, except if there is a bank holiday in which case the meting will be the following Monday. The club is currently full and there is a waiting list in operation.

EAST COAST SEARCHERS METAL DETECTING CLUB

Club based on the East Anglian and Essex border. The club holds their meetings at the Brantham Social Club in Brantham on the second Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm.

GWENT DETECTING CLUB

One of the biggest Welsh metal detecting clubs boasting over 150 active members. The club holds their monthly meeting on the 1st Tuesday of every month at the R.A.F.A Club, Greenhill Rd, Cwmbran, Gwent, NP44 3DQ.

ISCA METAL DETECTING CLUB ( Exeter )

**Sorry but the Club is currently FULL with a healthy waiting list**(July 2020) Ours is a small club of just 30 members, founded in 2013 and meeting once a month at The Black Horse, Old Honiton Road, Clyst Honiton, Exeter, EX5 2AN. In addition to the social meeting we also organise two Sunday digs per month. We are an active club with many levels of experience within our ranks. Meetings are informal with a raffle to raise money for club funds. ISLE OF WIGHT METAL DETECTING CLUB

IPSWICH & DISTRICT METAL DETECTING CLUB

Ipswich and District Detector club was founded by Jeff Short in the early 1970’s. Jeff used to own Jeff’s Detector Shop in “The Walk” Ipswich and is an avid detectorist. The club hold their meetings at the Rosary Conservative Club, 172 Bramford Road, Ipswich IP1 4AB. Meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month and start at 19:30pm.

KENDAL & DISTRICT METAL DETECTING CLUB

This club is a member of the National Council for Metal Detecting, North West Region. Affiliated to the Council for Physical Recreation, recognised by the National farmers Union and the CLA as the voice of responsible detecting (NCMD) Members live in North Lancashire, North and South Lakeland, West Cumbria, Whitely Bay, Aberdeen, Alston and Staffordshire.

LOUGHBOROUGH COIN & SEARCH SOCIETY

(Est 1968) Club was first formed in 1968 as an Numismatics (Coin Collecting) Club, over the years as detectors became commercially available the metal detecting part of the Society acquired land for the members to detect on freely, depending on crops & farm rules If you would like to become a member of the club then please use the contact us page or click on the become a member page to fill out an application form. MID CORNWALL HISTORY HUNTERS

MCHH is a group of 30 detectorists and was formed in 2003. The club hold fortnightly digs and meet once a month to compare finds. Meetings are on the 3rd Monday of the month at 7.30pm in the Lanivet Leisure Centre. This club has had a handful of big finds and welcome non members at their meetings

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE ARTEFACT RECOVERY CLUB

N.A.R.C meet monthly and the club holds a lot of rallies and presentations. Unfortunately they are not currently accepting new members. However, if you are a keen metal detecting enthusiast and live local I would recommend attending one of their presentations.

PASTFINDER METAL DETECTING CLUB

We are a small, friendly club based in the Southampton area. Founded in 2010 we hold regular monthly club meetings where finds are compared and club topics discussed. We have had some excellent finds over the past year on our farm permissions and are always on the lookout for new land.

SOLENT METAL DETECTING CLUB

The Solent Metal Detecting Club was formed by a group of metal detecting enthusiasts who meet once a month. These meetings are largely informal. A raffle is held during each meeting to help with club funding. We arrange occasional talks by visiting speakers on a variety of subjects.

ST. EDMUNDS SEARCHERS

Our club was founded in 2011 and meets every month in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk. Our county FLO always attends meetings and collects finds for recording, always returning finds the following month. We are a small group with a common interest in history and metal detecting. We encourage members of all experiences to show all their finds and we also add interest with a monthly finds competition. The club is currently fully subscribed and we are not accepting further names onto the waiting list until further notice.


ST NEOTS & DISTRICT ARTEFACTS CLUB

The SNADAC meet every other Tuesday at The Hyde Park public house in New Street, Saint Neots, at 8pm. This club has a long history and have even helped the police on a number of occasions.

SLC METAL DETECTING CLUB

Founded in 1978 by Brian Cross the South Lancashire and Cheshire metal detecting club is one of the oldest clubs and most successful clubs. Members meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at St Micahel’s Parish Church and run from 8pm until 11pm. SCUNTHORPE METAL DETECTING SOCIETY

Scunthorpe Metal detecting club holds their meetings at 7.30pm on the second Monday of every month at the Foxhills Club, DN15 8LQ. Currently they are not accepting any new members as they are at full capacity. This will be reviewed in the near future so its always worth contacting them if you live in the area.

SWALE SEARCH AND RECOVERY CLUB

Started in 1974 and formerly known as the Isle of Sheppey Metal Detecting Society, the Swale Search and Recovery Club hold their meeting on the first and third Thursday of the month. Meetings are held at The Hastings Arms in Gillingham. For more details visit their website.

SURREY SEARCHERS METAL DETECTING CLUB

Surrey Searchers Metal Detecting Club is based in Wallington. This is a very active club and they travel all over the UK on digs.

SCOTTISH DETECTOR CLUB

Established in 1977 the SDC is the oldest metal detecting club in Scotland. The club meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm in Conference Room 2, Wester Hailes Education Centre, 5 Murrayburn Drive, Edinburgh. EH14 2SU. They have regular club digs in the Lothians, Borders and Fife.

SWANSEA METAL DETECTING CLUB

Club meetings are held fortnightly on Wednesdays, at the Coopers Arms, Neath Road, Swansea SA6 8JU. The SMDC has managed to gain permission from the local council to detect on some council land.

SOUTH WEST SEARCHERS

Southwest Searchers Based in Plymouth, meeting every third Wednesday of the month at 8pm at The Railway Club, Mullet Road, Laira, Plymouth PL3 6TD. Club founded back in May 1993 to attract metal detectorists that reside in an area of Yorkshire known as Wharfedale and Airedale. Attract detectorists from the Pendle district of Lancaster. Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30 pm in the " Old School Room" Addingham.

Weymouth & Portland Metal Detecting Club hold their meetings on the third Monday of the month with contributions from guest speakers. Formed in 1990 and with 70 members.

Weekend Wanderers was established in 1990 and is one of the largest metal detecting clubs in the UK. The club regularly hires farmland for its members to detect on in Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

WEST KENT DETECTOR CLUB

West Kent Detector Club was formed in late 1978 and they detect on farms every two weeks in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. Meetings are held Browns School, Chelsfield, Kent BR6 7PH on the third Friday of the month. The club regularly assists the West Kent Archaeological Society on archaeological digs.
